Big A little a has a nifty wrap-up of this past weekend’s New York Times Book Review‘s annual children’s issue, which I’ll going to try to read during lunch today. There are usually at least a few out-of-left-field choices, which are much more fun to read about than the books already celebrated in Publishers Weekly, etc.
For a totally different take on the children’s issue, Edward Champion’s Return of the Reluctant has tallied up all the advertisements and advertisers (e.g. “PAGE 31: Half-page ad –— Charlesbridge, Roaring Brook and Peachtree Atlanta”). I haven’t looked closely enough at the list to see which expected names, if any, might be missing.
