To celebrate the 2025 publication of We Match! — my first fiction picture book in more than five years — I’m closing out 2024 by giving away signed copies of Shark vs. Train, Mighty Truck, Book or Bell? and Fire Truck vs. Dragon.
Why those four? Well, like my upcoming release, they’re also funny, completely made-up picture books. In other words, they match!
Four subscribers to my monthly Bartography Express newsletter (folks can sign up here) will each win an autographed copy of one of those titles — but that’s not all.
In addition, the four Bartography Express subscribers who win my December 2024 book giveaway will also receive copies of the titles featured recently on This One’s Dedicated to…:
- Natalia Sylvester’s Breathe and Count Back from Ten
- Kaz Windness and Heather Brockman Lee’s When You Love a Book
- Nadia Salomon and London Ladd’s A Voice of Hope: The Myrlie Evers-Williams Story
That’s right: There will be four winners of four books each.
If you’d like one of those winners to be you, by the end of the month either say so in the comments below or email me directly, and you’ll be in the running. (Subscribers with U.S. mailing addresses only.)
And if you know another reader, family member, educator, or librarian who might also appreciate having a shot at these giveaways, well, guess what: You match! So won’t you please let them know, too?

Thank you for the opportunity! I would love to win and share these books with my students. :)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to win these fab titles!!! I would not keep them for myself (although that is TEMPTING!!!). I will put them into the collection, as the collection I’ve inherited in my first year on this campus does not contain ANY of them!!! I mean NONE…NADA…ZIP…ZERO…Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! And, Shark vs. Train? We don’t even have a copy that is well-loved and falling apart!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let us win!!!!!!!
Even though I work in a middle school and high school building, as a previous RLA classroom teacher/now librarian, I always loved using picture books to teach specific literary concepts. Any of these titles, or all of them, would be a valuable addition to our library’s teacher resources.
