“Funny, clever and compassionate, Jennifer Ziegler’s ‘Worser’ is a brilliantly constructed account of a journey to self-knowledge.”
So says Lynne Truss, author of the bestseller Eats, Shoots & Leaves, in her New York Times review this past weekend of my wife’s latest middle grade novel, Worser.
The review offers some terrific examples of the wordplay — in the most literal sense — in Worser, and I just love that the first word in the most quotable line in the review is “funny.” I’ve been listening to the audio version of the book lately and laughing out loud again and again at passages I’ve read on the page many times.
Every time I think I couldn’t be more proud of Jennifer and this book, I get proved wrong. And happily so.
