What award befits a nonfiction picture book about glitter? How about something crystal?

I’m happy to share that my most recent book, Glitter Everywhere! Where It Came From, Where It’s Found & Where It’s Going (illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat and published by Charlesbridge), is a 2024 winner of the Crystal Kite Award for the Texas/Oklahoma division of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Thank you to all the SCBWI members who voted for my book, and congratulations to co-winner Susan Johnston Taylor (for Animals in Surprising Shades: Poems About Earth’s Colorful Creatures) and to Sydney Dunlap for her Crystal Kite Honor title in our division, It Happened on Saturday.

Be sure to check out all of the winners and honor titles for all of the SCBWI divisions. No, really — check them out from your public library, and if your public library doesn’t have some of these titles, please share that list with whoever makes purchasing decisions in hopes that they’ll share in celebrating these books!
