Welcome to 2024, everybody! I’m glad we’re here.
Late last year, I attended the Native American Heritage Month Celebration at the Austin Public Library and enjoyed the panel discussion among Cynthia Leitich Smith and four of the authors writing for HarperCollins’ Heartdrum imprint for young readers.
I enjoyed it so much, in fact, that I decided on the spot that I’d share their work with four lucky subscribers to my Bartography Express newsletter.
For my January 2024 book giveaway, I’m offering signed* copies of books by Laurel Goodluck, Dawn Quigley, Kim Rogers, and Brian Young, each to a different subscriber. The four books I’m giving away are:
Healer of the Water Monster, by Brian Young
Jo Jo Makoons: Fancy Pants, by Dawn Quigley and illustrated by Tara Audibert
Just Like Grandma, by Kim Rogers and illustrated by Julie Flett
Rock Your Mocs, by Laurel Goodluck and illustrated by Madelyn Goodnight
Subscribers to my monthly Bartography Express newsletter (folks can sign up here) are all eligible to win one of these titles.
If you’re a Bartography Express subscriber with a U.S. mailing address and you’d like to be one of those four winners, by the end of January 2024 either say so in the comments below or email me directly, and you’ll officially be in the running.
Good luck — and if you know another reader, family member, educator, librarian, etc., who you think might like to be one of the fortunate four, won’t you please let them know, too?
* This assumes I can find my signed copy of Jo Jo Makoons: Fancy Pants. It can’t have wandered far from the others, so it’s gotta be around here somewhere. (Have you seen it?) The winner will definitely get a copy — I can’t guarantee it will be signed, but I’ll keep looking…
Happy New Year, Chris! I’d love to win one of these books.
Happy New Year! I’d love a chance to win one of those books. BTW, my family grew up in Bernardsville, NJ, and when I mentioned your Glitter Everywhere book, I found out that my uncle Tom used to work at the factory after he came back from Vietnam. My aunt still has their first Christmas ornaments that they made using the glitter. xoxo
Happy New Year! I love a chance to win these books!
Susan, Cynthia, and Rachele, you’re all now officially in the running!
Cynthia, I love hearing from folks — and families of folks — who worked at the glitter factory. Thanks so much for sharing that with me!
Happy New Year to you and Jennifer! I’d love to win a copy of any of these books! Thank you!
Happy New Year and thank you for the opportunity to win one of these beautiful books! I would love the chance to win!
Happy 2024! Thank you for the giveaway!
