This past week I just did my first-ever author visits in Illinois and my first Glitter Everywhere! presentations of the 2024-25 school year — more than enough reason, in my book, to celebrate with a glittery* giveaway.
(*Ironically, Glitter Everywhere! contains no actual glitter. I’m sorry/You’re welcome, as the case may be.)
If my most sparkly book (illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat and published by Charlesbridge) has somehow escaped your attention, here’s some of the praise and acclaim received by Glitter Everywhere! Where It Came From, Where It’s Found & Where It’s Going since it arrived in June 2023:
A 2025 Siam Book Award Young Reader Shortlist Selection

A Junior Library Guild Selection

This month I’m giving away four signed copies of Glitter Everywhere! to subscribers to my monthly Bartography Express newsletter (folks can sign up here).
And Glitter Everywhere! is just one of the titles included in my October 2024 book giveaway. Four Bartography Express subscribers will win one copy of every giveaway title, which also include Make a Move, Sunny Park! by Jessica Kim, Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales, and Thirst by Varsha Bajaj — that’s four winners of four books each.
If you’d like one of those winners to be you, by the end of the month either say so in the comments below or email me directly, and you’ll be in the running. (Subscribers with U.S. mailing addresses only.)
And if you know another reader, family member, educator, or librarian who might appreciate Glitter Everywhere! — be it because of or in spite of the fact that it contains no glitter — won’t you please let them know, too?
I would love to win a signed copy! I love your books.
Entering your glitter drawing!

This would be a great addition to our library!

Yes Please! Enter me in the drawing.
Smith Elementary in Del Valle ISD would love a copy of your book!
Just subscribed. I’d love to be entered into the drawing for “Glitter Everywhere”.
Creative nonfiction titles are one of my FAVORITE types of children books. Based on the cover, this gives “The Story of Salt” by Mark Kurlansky and SD Schindler vibes!
Thank you for reading, everybody — and Steffanie and Andrea W., congratulations. Steffanie, check your inbox for email from me about getting the books to you…
