I wrote last spring about the fun I had talking writing at my kitchen table with a pair of preteen writers. Well, it gets even better.
One of those young writers just won the top prize for original short story in a national homeschooler writing competition judged by children’s author Dan Elish. Woo-hoo, Maya!
Maya’s mom has the scoop here, including the detail of how she (the mom) accidentally saved over the file for the winning entry. As someone who once sent his first child’s first baby tooth down the garbage disposal, I can sympathize.
First child’s first baby tooth??? Disposal?!?! Thanks for sharing … I might feel a little bit better now : )
