My new critique group will have its debut this Saturday. We’re starting small. How small? Well, consider this e-mail I just sent with the first draft of my brand-new manuscript:
In my past critique groups, each member has had their manuscript read aloud by another member. We can do that this weekend — or, if two grown men reading children’s stories aloud to each other isn’t your idea of a good time, we can hold off on that until we have a larger group.
Sounds like a good time to me. Have fun, and let us know how it goes.

Chris,
Have fun with the new critique group. I’d be lost without mine. I have a novel group and then a few friends who do pbs. I meet with the pb folk less regularly.
Also, I have a good friend moving to Austin next month so if this GOE is ever out that way I will give you a hollar.

Very funny, Chris! Good luck with your “group.”
