A combination of early risers and late sleepers here this morning has allowed me to get caught up on the Fifth Carnival of Children’s Literature and the fifth edition of The Edge of the Forest (both shepherded by tireless traveler Kelly at Big A little a). From the latter, I especially enjoyed the interview with author Susan Taylor Brown, whose thoughts on blogging echo my own:

I guess blogging fills some of the writing holes and writing fills some of the blogging holes and together they make up my writing life. My blog lets me think out loud about writing and lets other listen in on my thoughts. The advantage to this, of course, is that there is often a synergy that results that can help me solve a creative problem.

To Susan I send my sympathies on her injured finger, a belated happy birthday, and best of luck on her new book coming out next month.
