Last night, while listening to the radio and reading my two-year-old a Clifford the Big Red Dog book (it was the one where Clifford does something cute, resulting in the best __________ ever; perhaps you’ve read it), my mind wandered back to something I heard on the same program last year.

It was a low-key recording of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Grey DeLisle. And who is Grey DeLisle? She’s the voice of, among other animated characters, Clifford’s owner.

If one needs a bit of culture to balance out the presence of Clifford in one’s life (and I’m certainly not saying that you or I or anyone else actually does), one could hardly do worse than hearing Emily Elizabeth sing, “Mama, just killed a man…”
