For my April 2023 giveaway, I’m offering four signed copies of one of my most popular books: Whoosh! Lonnie Johnson’s Super-Soaking Stream of Inventions, illustrated by Don Tate and published by Charlesbridge.
Whoosh! has been on my mind a lot lately, because for my school visits this year I’ve returned this 2016 title — along with 2010’s Shark vs. Train — to the roster of books that I focus on in my presentations. That means getting to share with a new wave of elementary school audiences the story of Lonnie Johnson’s persistence and perseverance from his childhood through his years as a NASA engineer all the way through to his success as the inventor of one of the greatest toys of all time.
(And as I pointed out a couple of months ago, Lonnie is still busy inventing.)
Subscribers to my monthly Bartography Express newsletter (folks can sign up here) are eligible for one of those four personalized copies of Whoosh!
If you’re a Bartography Express subscriber with a U.S. mailing address and you’d like to be one of the four winners of signed and personalized copies of Whoosh!, by the end of April 2023 either say so in the comments below or email me directly, and you’ll officially be in the running.
And if you don’t win this time around, I bet your own persistence and perseverance will pay off in Bartography Express giveaways down the road…
Chris,
This sounds like a delightfully inspiring book. Perfect for summer reading. I’d love to get one of your free copies to share it with my grandchildren.
Our school library would love a signed copy of the book! We are hoping to get you as a guest author when you are here in Louisiana for the Book Festival. I’ve emailed with your assistant.
Lavonne and Allison, you’re now officially in the running. Good luck to you both, and here’s hoping something works out for us this fall, Allison!
